It comes upon a major milestone in the Snowy Hydro 2.0 project, in particular for us the &#8220;Recreational Fishing Offset&#8221;.  As Steve said: &#8220;The Snowy Hydro 2.0 Assessment Report was released today.\u00a0 This report outlines what steps Snowy Hydro must take to get final approval for the 2.0 Project.\u00a0 As you will be aware the Monaro Acclimatisation Society has been negotiating with Snowy Hydro for the past three years to gain a recreational fishing offset in the form of a grow-out facility where we could grow trout for stocking to a larger size which will be able to resist predation from redfin.\u00a0 Our work with Snowy Hydro saw this concept placed in the Environmental Impact Statement.\u00a0 The Assessment report released today states that Snowy Hydro is to commit $5 million to this project.\u00a0 While it will be sad if redfin do get into Tantangara and beyond, the MAS has worked hard to ensure that we can maintain a viable trout fishery in the face of redfin invasion.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-file\"><a href=\"http:\/\/canberra-anglers.asn.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Media-Release-Snowy-2.0-and-Snowy-Mountains-Trout-Growout-25-May-2020.pdf\">Media Release Snowy 2.0 and Snowy Mountains Trout Growout 25 May 2020<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/canberra-anglers.asn.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Media-Release-Snowy-2.0-and-Snowy-Mountains-Trout-Growout-25-May-2020.pdf\" class=\"wp-block-file__button\" download>Download<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>(Apologies for temporarily posting an earlier press release.
