{"id":3054,"date":"2020-06-01T19:32:57","date_gmt":"2020-06-01T09:32:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/canberra-anglers.asn.au\/blog\/?p=3054"},"modified":"2020-06-26T13:01:31","modified_gmt":"2020-06-26T03:01:31","slug":"june-2020-burley-line-newsletter-issue-156","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/canberra-anglers.asn.au\/blog\/june-2020-burley-line-newsletter-issue-156\/","title":{"rendered":"June 2020 Burley Line (Newsletter Issue 156)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"444\" height=\"444\" src=\"http:\/\/canberra-anglers.asn.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/latest.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3052\" srcset=\"http:\/\/canberra-anglers.asn.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/latest.jpg 444w, http:\/\/canberra-anglers.asn.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/latest-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/canberra-anglers.asn.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/latest-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 444px) 100vw, 444px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The social distancing and isolation continues but some folk have managed to get away fishing.&nbsp; With the gradual relaxation I look forward to more reports from you guys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some very interesting news in here from our \u2018peak recreational freshwater fishing\u2019 body \u2013 NSW Council of Freshwater Anglers.&nbsp; CAA has an increasing engagement so please raise with your delegate (Stefan) any issues that you believe need to be raised at state level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While CAA is not a member, the other key representational body in this region, the Monaro Acclimatisation Society, reports here on their pursuit of the \u2018recreational fishing offset\u2019 with Snowy Hydro 2.0 and are hoping for improved engagement with NSW DPI Fisheries.&nbsp; In practical terms, MAS are looking for a facility where larger fish can be grown out for stocking into Tantangara in the event that redfin are translocated by the pumped hydro.&nbsp; Some promising news on the issue of money coming out of Snowy Hydro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In light of the lack of fishing, I very much appreciate the submission from Anthony Heiser \u2013 nice to see some good looking trout grace our pages.&nbsp; Apologies, no such fish photos from the trip Peter and I took.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good news also from Lyall \u2013 our Events Program is set to restart in June given some of the relaxations on social gathering.&nbsp; Mustn\u2019t forget social distancing, but at least we can gather and gab.
