Club Event Organiser Role

Each CAA club event has a nominated organiser. Their role is fundamentally to co-ordinate the conduct of the club event in such a way as to simplify attendance by members. Tasks are not onerous but can be summarised as:

  • Act as the single point of contact for information about the conduct of the club event to advise members - information such as where, when, type of fishing, accommodation options.
  • Receive notification from members of their attendance
  • In the case of overnight club events, determine accommodations needs and liaise with accommodation providers
  • Assist co-ordination of transport - act as go-between for members who may require assistance with transport, attempt to minimise the number of vehicles being used
  • For coast club event, canvas attending members to identify winner of saltwater trophy
  • Encourage attending members to submit photos to newsletter editor; submit a short report on the conduct of the club event and results
