Note this is a reply to the organisers of the event, assuming it gets to them.
    Ay up,
I find the day, time and location somewhat at odds as a process to encourage (individual) rec anglers to attend. As opposed to those representing an Organisation or Govt Body
Those folk that work for themselves or small business may not be in a position to attend.
Those reliant on those that work to take them places won’t be able to attend.
Those with families and mid week obligations and commitments are unlikely to attend.
Those folk more than 3 to 4 hours away may incur accomm costs to attend and therefore in the current climate, may elect not to attend.
Having only received notice 7 days ou , it seems to me to lack capacity for organisers wanting many folk to attend.
Who works with a 7 day diary in our busy lives?
My thoughts are that very little new blood will turn up, nor are out of the box initiatives likely to burst forth from the old guard who perhaps are the only ones who can attend.
Being those representing governments, quangos and volunteer associations with funds.
I would have thought a slightly different approach would have garnered greater engagement.
Small centrally located regional offerings would have been better I feel.
The information from those sessions would have captured the diversity of climate, country and culture of rec fisher folk more broadly than is likely on the 6 May 2025.
Points raised and questions answered, surveys completed could then be divulged for further in depth discussion at a virtual meeting room, generating a large attendance by teams, zoom or other platforms would I argue provide greater input and at less cost.

Weeks of little action really have past since the Gadens session generated diverse debate, why rush things now, when out of the box thinking could bring a wealth of new insights, answers and that all important funding!
You said this…workshop to develop the most appropriate body to represent recreational anglers in NSW. …I believe the first thing you should have done was source written input from folk willing to pass on ideas and talking points.to be captured and discussed with volume attendance, after all developing a body from existing bodies or electing by consensus an existing body to be a lead agent for future change / benefit and Lobbying capacity, may in and off itself not be appropriate.
    Cheers Bob
